What’s the Internet??????

What is the internet? The internet is a “global system of interconnected computer network that use the standard Internet Protocol Suite to serve billions of users worldwide.” The internet is mostly for researching.Also the internet is sometimes for entertainment like watching movies and playing video games or playing online games.

Also, we can go on the internet and check our e-mail, check our Google calendar so that we know what to do for that day. We can look up books on Google Books so if our public library doesn’t have that book you need for your project you read it on this website. Google has many other things like a news link so you can watch some news that not all the news channels have. It has maps so that you can find your destination if you don’t know where it is. Google has a world map also so that you can find a place that you can take a vacation to. Lastly, you shop on google. You can shop for anything from a gps system to a Xbox 360!

What I mostly do on my computer is play online games and make beats for fun on this website called tone matrix and search Google quite often. The rest of the time, I do some projects and blogs on the internet at school.

What do other people do on their computer I do not know. All I can say is that my friends do projects and search Google just like I do. Also, most people I know play video games more than they do researching and doing things that will help their education.

I think the internet has both helped and hurt our society. It has helped by giving us helpful information, but some websites do not tell the complete truth. It has also hurt our society by people getting addicted to the internet and not doing the things that are important. Instead, they blow off the important things and do whatever they can to avoid it. The internet does not just hurt our society, but it helps us too. What it does to help our society is giving us websites that can make our lives easier like facebook, twitter and all those kinds of social networking sites. Not all the things on these websites are a waste of time. They can actually help us by organizing meetings for people with business jobs. Also, it can help any other kinds of jobs just by providing materials like calendars so they can give themselves a heads up on some event coming up. Also, to chat so their boss or employee can contact them if their is something they need or if there’s an emergency. Hope fully the internet will come out for the better.

Obama’s war on technology

Obama is basically saying that most of the technology isn’t the complete truth. All these game consoles and computers have information that we look at and aren’t completely all the true information. Some people post a lot of things that are not true they’re just rumors or lies. I also agree with this. I agree with this because it does distract us.All these video games, they keep us from learning more about this world. Well, children and teens anyway. Computers and ipads and ipods also are a distraction because they tempt us to find information on the computer rather than reading the newspaper the traditional way, but I think this won’t stop because we have already brought technology in this world.

Dumbest Generation???

No, they are not right about our generation. I do not think this is the dumbest generation. I actually think this is the smarter  generation. Since we have more advanced technology we can access information that is inhuman. But sometimes being off the computer and video games and cell phones can actually help your lifestyle too. No, video games aren’t completely a waste of time. They actually are a good thing to do. They can pretty much test your hand-eye coordination. The more you do it, the more you learn and succeed in doing it. The bad things about video games is that people play them too much. It could actually cause brain cells to die. Since our generation made these type of technologies, you cannot really say this is the dumbest generation. I say that because this technology can actually help people in a way. It can make finding things easier, you can buy things cheaper on the internet and so on. The intermet can also help you if you need help trying to fix a certain object. You can also watch a video of it if you are a visual learner. It makes us more aware of our surroundings. Say there’s a 3.6 earthquake going to happen. How are you going to be prepared? The internet! The internet also helps us get a grasp on what is happening in the whole world. If an earthquake is going to happen in Rome, Italy for example, we need to tell them to evacuate. If the can’t, then give them the materials they need to survive for that period of time. Also, there are some internet news videos that talk about other things than on the TV news. The news on the internet is even more convenient because it doesn’t take long to post the video or blog. What can change is the production of video games. It needs to slow down. The reason some people are illiterate is because of video games. Since there are new games people want pretty much everyday, they want to set their priorities on them. As they focus on games they will probably do badly in school because they will think education is a waste of time. It’s not! Education is one of the most important priorities in the world. I think after this generation or hopefully in this generation, most people will understand that some things are not to be prioritized.

The iPad!!

The iPad is basically a device that combines the computer monitor and the computer. It is also what they call an iPhone on steroids. Some people say things about the iPad that are negative and some that are positive. The people that talk negative about it say it’s a waste of time and that it’s just another thing to take care of. On the other hand, the positive people say that it’s another great concept that will help the world advance in technology. I think the iPad is a great idea because it has better portability to the people that carry around a big case for their lap tops don’t have to carry that heavy of an object. Another thing i like about is that it’s something that I would actually save money to get because it is a great thing to be carrying around. It’s not something that is a waste of time or money. I read that it can hold more apps than an iPod Touch and the iPhone. I think this will also be a great device because it has touchscreen. If it can respond quickly than more people will buy it because they are tired of their computers freezing. I think this iPad will change the way people think of computers. It will especially change education. It will make it way easier to connect to the internet for research or for doing projects. If the schools have enough money in this economy they should buy iPads (when they go down in price) so that it could be more convenient for the students to read in front of the class. I’m sure the iPad has an app for that. Also, the iPad would be convenient for impoverished countries around the world. It would make it easier to transport over to the country. It would also give the country more knowledge on how to use technology. Another thing would be that it composes the most important priorities into a pad. It has pretty much every app you can possibly imagine. That is excellent because it can help make every academic standpoint of life easier. easier

Feed the World.com

The name of our website is feed the world.com. What it does is provide kids with education all over the world. Also it provides the poor with pinto beans. We chose this because with little amounts of beans, there are a lot of carbohydrates. Carbohydrates give the people energy to do things without giving out. The people get the food when the kids all over the world search tutoring videos or play academic games to help them with their studies.  So the beans will not rot, we will dry them and all they have to do is add hot water. This is a good thing because you can do lots of things with beans. I think this will help everyone across the world, so no one is starving. The way we would transport the beans to the destination is by gathering large quantities of the donated food and then putting them in shipping containers and then loading them on cargo ships that are going to or close to the region that they would be needed in. Then once the cargo ship with the donated food on it reaches its destination. It will then be offloaded on to rail way cars which can bring the food far inland at little cost or the food can be loaded on to trucks which would drive to the destination and then offload the donated food to food distributors. The way paying for all the food works is. The advertiser are paying for there advertisements to be put on our website. Then we use all the money that they give us to pay for all the food and travel expenses so the food can reach the people. Thus we help save lives. In the end I think this is a helpful website toward saving peoples lives.

Google

What Google products have I used? I have mostly used just Google search or Gmail.  I like Google search because it is convenient. It is convenient because if you don’t understand something then you can go to Google search to look it up and get information on it. Gmail is different you can keep in touch with people. It lets you chat with people you haven’t seen in a while. I think that Google Docs, Calendar and Books are all useful.  Honestly, I have never use these things on Google. What I have heard about Google Docs is that it basically allows you to do what a phone does.It allows you to chat with people regularly. It basically allows you to do what a phone does. You can chat with people.  Another thing would be because if you and your boss needed to communicate with you for some reason and he forgot to tell you that there was a meeting, he can contact you. Secondly, is Google Calendar. It is exactly like a regular calendar, but it can be accessed on your cell phone or on your computer.  Some pros for the Calendar would be that you can access it easier, instead of bringing a laptop around everywhere you have your phone. Another reason would be that you do not have to write the same schedule over and over. Say you have a doctor’s appointment on a Wednesday you can set the calendar, so that it marks Wednesday every week or month or whatever. Lastly, Google books can help me in my academic life by pretty much the same thing as Google Calendar. I can use my phone to read books, but the problem is that some people might not have internet, so they cannot read it. It also can help because if you don’t have the book or you cannot find it, then you could read it. This would also be helpful if it was an important book you had to read for college and you could not find it. I think I would just deal with what I have. If I cant find something I would probably borrow the book from the person that has it. If they do not have it then I will just deal with it. Yes, I do think I would use some of these applications because they are very convenient for me. I would use something like Google Calendars because sometimes I forget things throughout the day. That would be very helpful to me. Lastly, it would be helpful because of the tasks. The tasks would motivate me to get better grades when I get a low grade. And that’s all I have to say!!

News,news,news!!!

I think the problem with city newspapers is that they don’t tell you everything that is important, but that’s my opinion. The thing I have noticed though, in the past year is that there are so many advertisements in the newspaper. There’s mostly ads instead of the information that we need to know more about our city or state. The things that are great about the newspaper is that it teaches us new things about the world. It tells us how the world works and also how the world’s health is. On the other hand, internet news has pros and cons also. The pros are that people have access to it on there mobile phones, computers and other devices. Most of the information is helpful. Although, one website I know is wikipedia that a bunch of people that copy and paste random things on the website. I think that future newspapers will look kind of futuristic. What I mean by futuristic is that it will get your attenton and stand out unlike the original black and white newspapers. And it will probabl look more like something that most people would want to read. Also i think that internet news might be similar to the original newspaper according to the ads. Another topic is what would the newspaper have to do to evolve in the Internet Age? Well, I think that the newspaper would have to be in color. The newspaper looks boring with just black and white. It also needs to have more information than mostly ads. Another thing is that it needs to be accurate. If it is not accurate, for example Haiti. If 20,000 people died and we assumed that 10,000 died than we might not have enough food to feed all the people that are in need. So the newspaper needs to be accurate because people want the truth not the assumption somebody has. What I would like to see happen is the newspaper, like I said, is to have more information, more accurate information and less ads. Also, Lastly, I want to read the truth and not the assumption of another person because people would not know if that information was accurate or not.

Twiddla

What is Twiddla? It is  a private conference that’s what it is! It can help business workers keep in touch with each other. That will help them because if they are far away from each other than they can still have a conference and not waste their job time. They can talk about anything pretty much. Another thing that Twiddla can be used for is tutoring. If you need it at home your teacher can probably tutor you. Only if they are not doing anything important. Another way it can be used is to chat with friends or family that you want to keep in touch with because they are not close to you. Some of the pros about twiddla are that you can keep in touch whether it pertains to business, family or just to have fun by yourself. It can bring happiness to the people you love and also you can plan schedules so your relatives can come to your house and visit you. In my opinion, the cons are the things that are unnecessary like the drawing. No business worker wants to draw while they are trying to have a conference. Drawing is for kids not business workers. That defeats the whole purpose of the website!! I think I would use this in the future. Not all the time. I do not think it would be an everyday thing for me. It does not seem that important to me because I’m not in a business. So why worry about it, you know! At the same time I don’t think I would use it in the future because I already have a Gmail, so I don’t really need another communication website. Gmail works just fine for me!! Another reason I would use it is because the drawing . I think the drawing is really unnecessary. I think they should take that off twiddla.

Cell Phone Project

Do I use my cell phone? Heck Yeah!! Of course I call people. Sometimes I call for emergencies, but mostly to get together with my friends or just call someone because I’m bored or there’s nothing to do. I also text. I pretty much do the same thing with texting. If I’m texting it’s usually more private conversations that I don’t want to talk about in public. Sometimes it’s just flat out retarded things that I don’t want to feel embarrassed about in front of my parents. My cell phone is capable of recording videos, so I can enjoy funny clips of my friends. Secondly, my phone has a camera. I use it for the same thing just to have fun. I also use it to take pictures of homework in case I have to go to a doctor’s appointment or something,but I rarely do that. Another thing my phone is capable of sending e-mail. I never use it. I think it’s a waste of time because you can just text someone. I guess some people would just use it to keep up with their relatives or friends and their daily lives. The last thing my phone can do that I know is surf the internet. I don’t usually use it, but what you can do on the internet is go on personal sites like my space, facebook, twitter and more. It’s just like the internet on the computer, but the only thing different is that it’s much more portable. How can I become a better person by using my phone? I’m not really sure, but maybe I could by sending homework to friends if they were absent. Anyway, to become a better student I can put what assignment is due each day. I can do the same thing with tests, quizzes and projects.  I can also set an alarm so it will remind me to study for a test. I can help people in need by using my phone to call an ambulance if someone is hurt or if someone has a heart attack or anything else that can cause harm to anyone. Also I can call a tow truck if someone’s car or truck broke down. The capabilities I would like to see is being able to have apps like the iPhone. I would like the app to pay bills or ship things to relatives, when I’m an adult of course.

Twitter

What I’m going to talk about is twitter. I think that twitter is popular because people can be able to listen or chat with celebrities. People are obsessed with entertainers lives. I think that people are obsessed with their lives because they want to know what the pros and cons that are happening with them. It’s not very important, but that’s the way some people are. Another reason I think twitter is popular is because people can chat with relatives that are far away or people they haven’t seen in a while. This is great for the people that are desperate to see there relatives. twitter is great because it opens up people’s lives more. It gives them something to do if they’re bored and if they can’t get a hold of them, for some reason, they can send a message through twitter. Twitter has many other reasons it’s helpful to people. They can schedule things to do for a party, or a get-together, or even  just to have a cup of coffee at Starbuck’s with a friend. Some other reasons that I think twitter is useful is for people with most kinds of jobs. Businessmen can use twitter on their cell phone to tell their boss they have to cancel their meeting because something more important was that day. Construction workers shouldn’t use twitter while they’re working because they might ruin one of their projects. The last reason I want to share is using twitter just to find things in the world you have never known to be true until you read an article by CNN or Time Magazine or any other news article. Most importantly it tells things like what’s going on with the troops in Iraq or What President Obama’s next campaign is or if it will work or not.And that’s why people use twitter, it’s a great program for any kind of person anytime, anywhere!
